Bon Yagi
Shuho Bon Yagi

Owner and Founder

Mr. Bon Yagi moved to New York in the 1970s, searching for the opportunity to bring Japanese cuisine beyond the conversation of “sushi and noodles” to NYC. Since opening his first T.I.C. restaurant in 1984, T.I.C. Restaurant group has introduced culinary destinations for everyone to enjoy Japan without airfare, each one unique in its authentic tastes and traditions. Glistening glazes drizzled over takoyaki. Bubbling shabu shabu hot pot. Crispy panko breaded katsu curry. Smooth slices of fresh sashimi. Wavy bowls of fresh ramen. Cups overflowing with rare Japanese sakes. Flowered boards with handmade soba. The T.I.C. journey of Japanese cuisine and culture began around East Ninth and Tenth Streets, has expanded uptown, and now is expanding beyond New York City into Livingston Manor, NY. Now Mr. Bon Yagi is developing his most ambitious and exquisite Japanese cultural experience thus far.

Mr. Bon Yagi first expanded his residency beyond New York City into Sullivan County in 2001. Mr. Yagi treasured the local Livingston Manor area, where he found peace and community with the Dai Bosatsu Zendo Zen Temple. He became a donor and participant in the temple community programming, and became a frequent local patron to the many small business establishments of Livingston Manor. As expressed by the 20+ letters of support from small businesses, notable elected officials, educational institutions and cultural organizations, it is evident Mr Yagi is an authentic and good hearted person with an extraordinary vision to amplify the experience of being in Livingston Manor, with a unique legacy project that complements the existing culture and provides economic fortune to the town, the county and the Empire state.

Michael Tucker

General Manager

Michael Tucker is a downtown revitalization strategist, specializing in grants, real estate development, and community engagement. He takes a comprehensive approach to community and economic revitalization by aligning public and private sector resources, driving investment, and leveraging local assets to create sustainable growth. Michael focuses on building strategic frameworks that foster business development, job creation, and long-term community resilience.

Michael serves as President of the Long Island Food Council (dba NY Food Council), a leading organization supporting and scaling the food and beverage industry across Long Island. He is currently leading a statewide pilot initiative to expand the Micro Co-Packing ecosystem, which is designed to support small food manufacturers and stimulate local economies through distributed production infrastructure.

He is also a Board Member of the Regional Economic Development Council of Long Island, where he contributes to the development of regional strategies that promote industry growth, innovation, and investment.

In the private sector, Michael is an Associate Real Estate Broker with DGNY Commercial, LLC, based in Melville, New York. He specializes in tenant and landlord representation and commercial real estate investments, with a strong track record in industrial, land, office, retail, and multi-family properties. His analytical and relationship-based approach to real estate has earned him accolades, including the Power Broker Award (Q3 2020).

Michael’s leadership spans multiple advisory and community roles, including:

  • Manufacturing and Technology Resource Consortium (MTRC) – Advisory Board
  • Workforce Skills Development Institute – Advisory Council

  • Port Washington Business Improvement District (BID) – Board Member

With more than 30 years of business and sales experience across multiple product lines and distribution channels, Michael brings a strategic, cross-sector perspective to both commercial real estate and regional economic development. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Skidmore College.

 

Jane Stageberg
Jane Stageberg

Architect 

Jane holds a Masters Degree in Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Masters Degree in Music from Boston University. Prior to establishing Bade Stageberg Cox in 2006, Jane worked at such notable firms as David Brody Bond, Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects and Gluckman Mayner Architects. With her partners, Jane has developed BSC into an award-winning practice committed to design excellence, and has been lead architect for a wide range of projects including new construction, renovations and adaptive reuse. She is a member of the New York AIA Chapter, and serves on the programming committee of ArtTable, a professional association of women in arts management. Having led the renovation of the National Academy Museum + School, Jane joined the Academy’s Board of Directors in 2019.

Jane has taught in the graduate architecture programs at Parsons School of Design and Cornell University, and has served as guest juror at Columbia University, CUNY’s Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture, Pratt Institute, New York Institute of Technology, Syracuse University, Yale University, and University of Texas at Austin.
